Meet The Designer

My name is Mays, I’m the designer behind the Masymetric brand. I’m an independent jewelry designer and gemologist specializing in bespoke bridal jewelry, and I would love to make your jewelry dreams come true!

I create my unique pieces in my collaborative studio, Made You Look here in the heart of Toronto. My distinctive visual style is inspired by my love for asymmetry and my earlier jewelry making adventures which helped me develop my signature feminine curves and perforation pattern that you see in every piece I make.

The process of developing a design usually starts with a center stone or a cluster of stones, and the shapes of metal are built around these stones to enhance and amplify them. Often times jewelry designers like to use metal merely as a means to hold a gorgeous stone around your finger, but I like to show more metal and work in a harmonious balance that allows both metal and stones to contribute to the beauty of a jewelry piece.

I often use 3D modelling to produce my designs for highly accurate results. I also often collaborate with my talented colleagues here at Made You Look for things like wax printing, metal casting, stone setting and laser engraving.
